  • Although people often think of boardrooms, suits, and million-dollar deals when they hear the word negotiation, the truth is that we negotiate all the time. Through this course, participants will be able to understand the basic types of negotiations, the phases of negotiations, and the skills needed for successful negotiating.

  • The Negotiation Skills course will give participants a sense of understanding their opponent and have the confidence to not settle for less than they feel is fair. Participants will learn that an atmosphere of respect is essential, as uneven negations could lead to problems in the future.

Course Objectives

  • Understand the basic types of negotiations, the phases of negotiations, and the skills needed for successful negotiating

  • Understand and apply basic negotiating concepts: WATNA, BATNA, WAP, and ZOPA

  • Lay the groundwork for negotiation

  • Identify what information to share and what to keep to yourself

  • Understand basic bargaining techniques

  • Apply strategies for identifying mutual gain

  • Understand how to reach a consensus and set the terms of the agreement

  • Deal with personal attacks and other difficult issues

  • Use the negotiating process to solve everyday problems

  • Negotiate on behalf of someone else

The course is designed with a technology called scorm package where all the lessons are contained in the same course screen. You press the menu button at the top right section of the screen where a drop menu pop up and all the lessons with the case studies and tests will appear and you can select directly to go a specific lesson if you don't want to watch the lessons sequentially
Every course is composed of 10 Modules. Each module has assessment questions. You must answer all of them and get a cumulative grade of at least 50% to get the Certificate of completion. The assessment questions are of different forms, such as multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, etc.. Each module has on average 10 questions
